MetaWealth, a leading tokenised real estate investment platform, announced that fund manager APS utilised its platform to purchase €3 million in real-world assets (RWA), becoming the first institution to directly purchase tokenised investments.

APS, a Pan-European fund manager with over €12 billion in assets under management, acquired €1.5 million in bonds of MetaWealth’s 8th asset listing (Fo.Ro Living Rome) and €1.5 million in bonds of asset listing 9 (Porta Pamphili Rome) utilising the MetaWealth tokenised investment platform. The institution has procured the same tokens available to retail investors, a first for the tokenised investment industry. Following the investment, MetaWealth’s Fo.Ro Living, Italy’s first tokenised real estate listing, and Porta Pamphili listing are 100% funded.

The institution’s tokenised bond purchase, facilitated by MetaWealth, marks the first step in the merging of TradFi and DeFi. By committing to a long-term investment in a real-world asset through a blockchain, APS recognises the robustness of the MetaWealth platform and demonstrates that tokenised real-world assets can be secure, legal, and compliant.

Amr Adawi, CEO and Co-Founder of MetaWealth: “We’re thrilled to push the boundaries of the RWA industry with APS, facilitating the first institutional investment in tokenised assets. The investment brings increased trust to the space, an important source of liquidity to the ecosystem, and increased access to real-world assets for customers and institutions alike. The investment is an endorsement of the MetaWealth platform and indicates confidence in our asset selection, due diligence & legal processes and industry-leading tokenisation process.”

MetaWealth is determined to democratise the tools for wealth generation, increasing the accessibility and liquidity of all assets. Facilitating the first institutional investment in RWAs through its tokenised investment platform is a significant milestone in its journey and demonstrates that MetaWealth is tokenising institution-grade assets while maintaining access for individuals.

    Mihai Pop, Manager at APS:
“Tokenisation represents a transformative shift in investing, offering increased liquidity and streamlined transactions while maintaining compliance and security. Through MetaWealth’s platform, we have been able to efficiently allocate capital to high-quality real estate projects, diversifying our portfolio with institutional-grade assets. This investment signals our confidence in the growing role of blockchain in traditional finance, and we look forward to further opportunities in the space.”

Launched in 2023, MetaWealth’s real estate investment platform tokenises Pan-European real estate, bringing greater liquidity and accessibility to what is typically a slow and costly transaction process. Each token represents a fractional investment, dividing properties into many smaller assets available for purchase on the MetaWealth platform. This approach to investing enables stakeholders to purchase, sell, or transfer real estate assets in seconds, rather than the weeks or months required by traditional property markets.

Since its launch, MetaWealth has listed properties in Romania, Spain, Greece, and Italy, and has facilitated over $50 million in tokenised real estate investments, placing MetaWealth in the top 10 platforms for investments in real-world assets. The company has been profitable since its second year and continues to expand its presence across Europe, with investors from 23 countries using the MetaWealth platform.
